As per 9to5Mac, Beats Studio Pro will arrive with two custom 40 mm drivers that can deliver “near-zero distortion even at high volume”. As compared to Beats Studio 3, which was the last over-the-ear headphones released by Beats in 2017, the new custom drivers in the upcoming headphones will bring a massive improvement of 80%.

Better than AirPods Max

A built-in digital processor in Beats Studio Pro that will function by “optimizing the final frequency response for a powerful, yet balanced sound profile crafted to bring out the subtle details of whatever you’re listening to.” Beats Studio Pro headphones will bring similar features as AirPods like Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, and Spatial Audio. The Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos in Studio Pro will be based on head tracking, a feature that is only available in Apple AirPods 93rd generation), AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. There will be a multi-function button on the side for cycling through Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode. Similar to the functions that stem performs in AirPods, the button will also be used for connectivity and switching between different listening modes. “Fully adaptive Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) continuously monitors the noise around you in real-time, then creates a precisely-tuned filter to cancel it out. Easily switch to Transparency mode to let the sounds of your environment mix seamlessly with your music when you want to stay present and aware”, writes Beats. Upgraded voice-targeting microphones will deliver a high-call quality performance while canceling out outside noise and distortion. One area where Beats Studio Pro outshines even AirPods Max is connectivity. The new headphones will have a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack and Apple will also include a 3.5mm audio cable in the box along with the normal USB-C to USB-C cable for charging. However, the headphones will not have the Apple-designed H-Series chip that we see in AirPods. Instead, they will feature a custom-designed Beats chip that will bring better cross-platform capabilities to the headphones for better integration with Android as well as iOS platforms. Some of the Android features that will be supported on Beats Studio Pro include Google Fast Pair, Audio Switch, Find My Device, and a dedicated Beats app for Android. Surprisingly, Beat Studio Pro will have a battery life of up to 40 hours when ANC and Transparency Mode is disabled. This is twice the listening time in the same conditions as compared to AirPods Max.
