Bloomberg reports that of the people who got to give the Apple Vision Pro a try personally, many “are finding that the metal-framed device feels to heavy after a couple hours of continuous use”. The iPhone maker has created a second strap that goes over the user’s head to address this issue, but it may not be something that comes in the box. Instead, the report notes that it may be sold as an optional extra accessory instead. According to Engadget, this additional overhead strap was available for visitors to preview during the on-ground portion of the WWDC 2023 event. Considering that the Bloomberg report noted that this is seemingly a common problem for many users, there is a chance that Apple will just include the additional strap with the Vision Pro. Then again, this is the same company that sold a stand for a display separately for a quarter the price of the display itself. The Bloomberg report also notes that Apple intends to prepare dedicated demo areas within its retail stores to market the Vision Pro headset. Which is fair for something that the company wants to sell in the consumer market. That being said, it remains to be seen what sort of traction this will result in, considering that the headset has a price tag of US$3499 (~RM16,412). And that’s not yet including the overhead strap for improved comfort during extended use. Though there’s plenty of time for things to change, considering the headset is only becoming available next year. (Source: Bloomberg, Engadget [1], [2])
