In general, the introduction of the new Home Wireless 5G plan has made Celcom the second telco in the country to provide 5G-based wireless broadband service to consumers. Previously, only YTL Communications has a such offering in the form of Yes Wireless Fibre 5G plan. Unlike the Yes plan which has a maximum speed of 120Mbps, the Celcom’s counterpart has no such mention but based on our observations so far, it seemed that the Celcom Home Wireless 5G is being offered in a highly targeted manner. For starters, you would not able to see the plan if you waltz into the Broadband section of Celcom’s website using the standard link at the moment. Only when you use this particular link, the Celcom Home Wireless 5G section would appear. This is not the first time that the telco has created a customised section for its product though as we have encountered it before when Celcom offered a same-day Home Fibre installation promo in Sabah.

If you overshoot it, the speed would be throttled to 512kbps but one can elevate the speed limit by purchasing an additional quota which starts at RM10 for 50GB with a validity of 24 hours. If you need a longer validity period, there are 20GB and 40GB add-on options which would last until the end of the billing cycle but are priced much higher at RM40 and RM70, respectively.
