This is not LV’s first rodeo with earbuds though as the company has released them before in 2019 and 2020. As per previous releases, the company once again collaborated with Master & Dynamic to come out with the new Horizon Light Up Earphones. Unlike their predecessors though, it seemed that LV has opted for an original design altogether for the 2023 model instead of adding the company’s branding or artwork into existing M&D earphones. Featuring a circular aluminium frame, each earbud also features sapphire glass on top of the LV’s Connected Monogram pattern. Equipped with Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) feature, there is an 11mm Beryllium driver inside each earbud together with a set of two omnidirectional and one analogue microphones. LV has also equipped several physical buttons into the new earbuds which allow users to control the output volume, media playback, and phone calls as well as to switch between ANC modes, and trigger their phone’s Virtual Assistant. Able to support two devices simultaneously, the IPX5-rated earbuds also come with a wear sensor that allows them to operate instantly once users placed them into their ears. When it comes to battery life, the Horizon Light Up Earphones can last up to 12 hours (10 hours with ANC on) which can be further extended for another 16 hours through their charging case. Speaking about the charging case which features an IPX4-rated polished stainless steel body with the Louis Vuitton name etched on its lid, the case’s design was based on the Tambour Horizon Light Up connected watch. This explains the presence of the colourful backlit Connected Monogram patterns that surround the lid’s glass cover which also act as the battery level indicator for the charging case and earphones. There is also another set of indicators inside the case with each light meant to represent the battery level of the charging case and the individual earphones. Through wired charging, LV said that it takes around 15 minutes to get its battery level from 0 to 50% and another 40 minutes to bring the level from 50% to 100%. The charging case also supports wireless charging although the charging speed is much slower as it would take 30 minutes to replenish the case’s battery from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes and to go from 50% to 100% would take another hour. Being an LV product, customers would receive the Horizon Light Up Earphones in a box that is draped in the company’s signature imperial saffron colourway. Alongside the earphones and their charging case, the box also contains a black travel pouch, an On-the-go compact case, five ear tips in multiple sizes, a USB-C cable, and a USB power adapter. Priced at RM7,250, the Horizon Light Up Earphones can be obtained through LV Malaysia’s website in several colourways including Black, Gold, and Pink. They are also available in two limited-edition colour options: Blue-to-Violet Gradient and Red. However, the Pink model was not listed on LV Malaysia’s website when we visited it earlier today. During our quick visit to the LV Store at The Gardens Mall earlier today, the staff informed us that the earphones are indeed available at LV Malaysia’s outlets but since stocks are extremely limited, you may want to contact the brand first by sending a WhatsApp message or call 1300-888-586 to check out their availability ahead of your visit.
