Meanwhile, we have yet to notice any announcement from Maybank regarding this downtime. We will keep you posted once we hear more from the bank. UPDATE (1:00 PM): Maybank has officially confirmed the technical difficulties that the MAE app is facing at the moment. The confirmation was done through its Twitter and Facebook page:

Kindly be informed that you may perform your banking services on Maybank2u web. We are currently experiencing intermittent slowness on our MAE app. (1/2) — Maybank (@MyMaybank) February 24, 2023 As you may notice, the statement did not provide any explanation behind the issue though which has been described as “intermittent slowness” by the bank. We are monitoring the situation and will keep you updated once there is further information available. UPDATE [7:51 PM]:  Maybank tweeted an update at 5:32 PM to inform customers that the MAE app has since returned to normal:

Kindly be informed that the MAE app is back to normal. You may perform your banking transactions across all our platforms. Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused today. We thank you for your continued patience and support. — Maybank (@MyMaybank) February 24, 2023 Similar to last week’s incident and many other episodes over the years, Maybank once again did not provide any explanation why its mobile app has experienced difficulties for almost the entire day. Being the biggest bank in the country, it goes without saying that many Malaysians rely on Maybank and to see the bank’s digital platform face major downtime two weeks in a row is quite a concern.
