Priced at RM69 per month, the new Pakej Perpaduan provides 30Mbps with unlimited data. The package does come with a 24-month contract which is a standard practice in the industry. [Image: KKD / Facebook.]Fahmi noted that the package will be available from major Internet Service Providers (ISPs) out there including Astro, CelcomDigi, Maxis, Time Internet, TM, U Mobile, and YTL Communications (Yes). As a comparison, here is the current price of the base fixed wired and wireless broadband Internet packages that are being offered by each of these telcos: Astro Fibre 50Mbps: RM99 Celcom Home Fibre 30Mbps: RM80 Celcom Home Wireless 4G: RM100 with 100GB quota Digi Home Fibre 50Mbps: RM90 Maxis Home Fibre 30Mbps: RM89 Maxis Home 4G WiFi: RM138 with unlimited data Time Fibre Home 100Mbps: RM99 TM Unifi Home 30Mbps: RM89 TM Unifi Air: RM79 with unlimited data U Mobile Home Fibre 100Mbps: RM129 YTL Yes 5G Wireless Fibre 120Mbps: RM148 with unlimited 5G & 150GB 4G data *Digi and U Mobile wireless broadband plan focused on mobile Wi-Fi instead of home installation. Their pricing starts at RM45 and RM48, respectively. In general, the new Pakaj Perpaduan provides between 13% to 22% savings per month as opposed to the existing 30Mbps fibre plans. When compared to wireless broadband plans, the savings can be as high as 53%. While Fahmi’s announcement did not mention fixed wireless plans but then again, YTL who is a wireless-only ISP made its way into the list. Not only that, there are still many areas out there that have not yet been covered by fibre which is why we also include home wireless broadband packages in the above price reference list.
