In case you missed the news, Pakej Perpaduan prepaid plan provides 30GB of data with a validity period of six months and costs RM30. With a maximum speed of 3Mbps, this means the plan provides 5GB per month for just RM5 per month.
The new Pakej Perpaduan will be made available for individuals that belonged to the B40 group income as well as senior citizens, veterans of security forces, and persons with disabilities. Since the prepaid plan is meant to replace the existing Pakej Remaja that was launched back in 2021, youths below 30 years old are also able to sign up for it. Back to the joint announcement, all of the participating telcos will begin to offer Pakej Perpaduan to eligible customers starting on 28 February 2023. Do note that there is no need to rush as the prepaid plan will continue to be available up until 31 December 2023.
Aside from the prepaid plan, there is also another Pakej Perpaduan in the works which is meant for fixed broadband. Under this plan, eligible individuals can obtain a 30Mbps broadband plan for RM69 per month although there is a 24-month contract attached to the plan. As for the eligibility term, it is identical to the Pakej Perpaduan prepaid plan as per what we mentioned earlier. With the exception of Time who already launched their take on it in the form of Pakej MyKabel, participating ISPs such as Astro, CelcomDigi, Maxis, Unifi, U Mobile, and Yes have yet to reveal further details regarding the plan but since it is scheduled to be available this March, expect the official announcement to take place very soon.
