For starters, the Redmi 12C offers a 6.71-inch flat display with 1650 x 720 pixel resolution, 20:6:9 aspect ratio, and 60 Hz refresh rate. It also features flat edges, and a striped unibody curved back with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor that’s available in four colour options: Graphic Gray, Ocean Blue, Mint Green, and Lavender Purple. Measurements-wise, the phone comes in at 168.76 x 76.41 x 8.77 mm, and weighs at 192 g. Under the hood, the Redmi 12C packs a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, up to 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage, and supports up to 1 TB of expandable storage via MicroSD. Its other onboard features include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, FM radio support, Android 12 via MIUI 13, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Additionally, powering the phone is a 5,000 mAh battery with 10 W charging support via microUSB. On that note, a 10 W charger and compatible cable is also included in the package. As for imaging, housed within the vertical dual-camera array on the Redmi 12C’s back is a 50 MP primary sensor, along with a 0.08 MP depth sensor. Xiaomi says the system comes with AI-enhanced features that allows you to take night shots in greater detail, and also allows you to shoot videos up to 1080p at 30 fps. Meanwhile, housed within the notch on the phone’s display is a 5 MP selfie camera. The all-new Redmi 12C is set to go on sale in Malaysia from 16 March 2023 onwards, with pre-orders now available via Xiaomi’s official online stores on Shopee and Lazada. The 4 GB + 128 GB configuration is priced at RM 599, whereas the 6 GB + 128 GB trim is priced at RM 699. Xiaomi adds that customers who are pre-ordering the smartphone from today until 15 March are entitled to receive Redmi Buds 4 Lite for free.
