Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has posted what they claim to be the specs of the Redmi Pad 2. If true, it will sport a 2K LCD screen with a display size ranging from 10 to 11 inches and a 90Hz refresh rate, similar to the original Pad. The previous offered four Dolby Atmos tuned speakers, but there’s no mention of that in the leak. Under the hood, it will reportedly run on the older Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, which is a significant downgrade from the MediaTek Helio G99 according to NanoReview. Of course, nothing is yet known about the RAM and storage configurations but for context, its predecessor offered between 3GB to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. The camera setup on the Redmi Pad 2 could also be slightly reduced as DCS claims that it will feature a 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, the latter of which uses an 8MP sensor in the previous model. Powering it could be the same 8,000mAh battery. If you aren’t familiar with the original tablet, it has a 10.6-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1200×2000 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 90 Hz. The mid-range device runs on the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC and it is powered by an 8,000mAh battery with support for 18W charging. Everything else about the upcoming product is still a mystery, including the pricing. The original tablet started from RM899 but given that the Redmi Pad 2 might receive some notable downgrades, it will be interesting to see if it will get a price cut. Some rumours say that it will be launched in the third quarter of 2023 alongside the Redmi K60 Ultra. (Sources: Gizmochina, 91mobiles)
