Just in case you missed our previous coverage, the new shooter is the high-end sibling of the Sony ZV-E10 which was released back in 2021. Unlike the latter, it features a slightly larger body that’s also weather-sealed, a full-frame sensor instead of APS-C, in-body stabilisation, and numerous AI-enhanced tools. Handling the imaging aspects of the camera is a 12 MP full-frame CMOS sensor and a BIONZ XR image processor. On top of providing the ability to snap high quality images, these also enable the ZV-E1 to record videos at up to 4K resolution at frame rates of up to 120 fps, as well as offer 10 fps of continuous shooting and 15+ stops of dynamic range. Additionally, the ZV-E1 comes with an ISO range of 80 – 102400 which can be expanded further to 40 – 409600, and a built-in sensor-shift stabilisation that offers up to 5.0 stops of shake and vibration compensation. Besides that, also found onboard is a 7.5 cm TFT vari-angle touchscreen with 1M dot resolution, a Sony E Mount, a multi-interface shoe, a micro HDMI port, 3.5 mm microphone and headphone jacks, a built-in 3-capsule mic, an SD card slot, as well as a USB-C port for data transfers and charging. As for features, the new full-frame shooter comes with AI-powered tracking tools such as Multiple Face Recognition and Real-time Recognition autofocus, as well as a new Cinemascope mode that lets you shoot videos in 21:9 aspect ratio. There’s also a live streaming function that allows you to broadcast at up to 4K 30 fps, along with a “product showcase” ability that lets the camera instantly focus on an object that’s placed within its frame.
Interested buyers may pre-order the ZV-E1 at RM 10,499 for just the body, or RM 11,999 when included together with a Sony SEL 28-60 mm kit lens. Despite being in the same family, the price of the newer model is quite the leap when compared to the ZV-E10, which is currently retailing for RM 2,999. And for your reference, Sony’s A7S III and FX 3 Cinema Line shooters, which feature the same sensor and imaging processor as the ZV-E1, are priced at RM 16,599 and RM 18,999 respectively. Sony adds that early adopters of the upcoming full-frame vlogging camera are entitled to receive a memory card and additional battery pack for free while stocks last. There’s also a purchase-within-purchase promotion that offers a FE 20 mm ultra-wide prime lens, GP-VPT2BT wireless shooting grip and a ECM-B10 shotgun microphone at discounted prices of RM 3,799, RM 349 and RM 849 respectively. Outside of this deal, these accessories currently retail for RM 4,199, RM 499 and RM 999. (Source: Sony Malaysia [Facebook] [official website])
