In terms of specifications, the local release of the new mid-range phone is no different than its iteration for other markets. To recap, the Tecno Pova 4 sports a large 6.82-inch IPS panel display with 720 x 1600 pixel resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 90 Hz refresh rate. Also onboard is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a USB-C port for charging and data transfer. The phone is available in Cryolite Blue and Uranolith Grey colour options. Under the hood of the device is an octa-core MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, which is paired together with a Mali G52 MC2 GPU, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, powering it is a battery with a massive capacity of 6,000 mAh that comes with 18 W fast charging support. For software, the new mid-range phone features Android 12 via Tecno’s HIOS platform. In the imaging department, found on the back of the Pova 4 is a dual camera setup consisting of a 50 MP primary shooter and a 2 MP macro camera. In front, on the other hand, is an 8 MP selfie camera housed within the top-centred cutout on the phone’s display. Based on the brand’s announcement, it appears that only the standard variant of the mid-range phone will be available locally. It’s still not known whether Tecno plans to launch the slightly fancier Pova 4 Pro in Malaysia at this time. For your reference, the high-end variant differs from its sibling by featuring an AMOLED display panel with a higher resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels with 90 Hz refresh rate, and a faster charging speed of 45 W.
